Solstice

The second night in the Echo Society Seasons Series debuted on June 29th featuring nine new concert pieces and significantly expanded sound and light design. We were incredibly happy to welcome our first international guest composers from Iceland, Ms. Kira Kira, and trumpeter/composer Eiríkur Ólafsson. The Solstice evening performance featured a 12-piece mixed ensemble of strings, trombones, harp, and live percussion. Conducted by Joe Trapanese in a sold-out house at Mack Sennett, the ensemble was comprised of some of the best performing musicians in Los Angeles interacting with synthesizers, looped beats, and the various hybrid electronics that have come to define the Echo Society shows. We’ll be releasing information about the next performance soon, so please sign up for the email list to ensure that you hear about it first.

The Solstice show can be streamed in its entirety here.

Non-profit Music Development

We’re excited to announce that the Echo Society has secured fiscal sponsorship from Fractured Atlas, and can now receive funding as a 501c3 non-profit organization. As the Echo Society expands, we’ll be bringing in a wide range of guest composers and performers to interact with the vibrant Los Angeles music and arts community. If you’d like to be a part of seeing this grow, you can contribute here.

These donations will go directly to support the production of our upcoming shows, and in the future, the development of community-based programs and music/art initiatives around our city.

We’re excited about what is happening in Los Angeles and inspired to be a part of helping our art scene grow. Stay tuned for information on our next event!
